Mr. Myron Smith is currently a resident of Montgomery,Al but originally from Chattanooga,Tn. He is a graduate of Alabama State University where he obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance with a concentration in Trumpet Performance. While attending ASU, he was a member of the "Mighty Marching Hornet" Band as well as the university wind ensemble, symphonic band, trumpet ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, and Percussion ensemble. He served as the Chapter President of the Collegiate Alabama Music Educators Association while being a member of Student Alabama Educators Association, International Trumpet Guild, and the Percussive Arts Society. Mr. Smith brings years of experience from Hamilton County Schools in Tennessee where he served as Director of Bands for Tyner Academy and from Butler County Schools where he served as Director of Bands and Music History teacher at The Georgiana School. Along with his experience in playing professionally, he also brings 6 years of military experience after serving with the Tennessee Military Department in the capacity of an Infantry Soldier, Public Affairs Specialist, and then as a Military Emergency Management Specialist. Mr.Smith is currently a graduate student at ASU working toward a Master’s in Music Education with a concentration in Secondary and Post-Secondary Instrumental Music.
