AntiVirus & Malware Help

Antivirus

1. Notify our technicians via the School Technology Coordinators to have our Antivirus loaded on each computer. The School Technology Coordinator will fill out a work order indicating any computer without Antivurs.

 Malware
Malware, short for malicious software, is software designed to infiltrate a computer system without the owner's informed consent.

This process written by Aaron Ellis will help guide you through cleansing and protection from Malware.

MALWARE ISSUES
1.) Go to malwarebytes.org
2.) On the left side of your screen you should see a button that says "Download Free Version", Click on it.  When I did this it took me to another webpage and I had to click on Download Now.  Your mileage may vary!
3.) Once you have downloaded it you will need to install it.  Most of the install is just click next type of choices.  When you see the finish button there will be two checkboxes above it, leave these checked and click Finish.  This will update and launch the program.
4.) Once the program launches you want to choose the radio button next to "Perform full scan" and then click the Scan button.
5.) You will be shown a box that enables you to pick the drives you want to scan.  Make sure the C: is checked and click on the start scan button.  The scan will take a while especially if the computer is a slow one and has a lot of files to be scanned.
6.) When the scan has finished choose the "Show Results" button
7.) Choose the "Remove Selected" button.

You might get a message about having to restart to finish the removal process.  Go ahead and let it restart to completely knock out anything it found.
